FAQ’s
-
You do not need to know before you get in touch. You may already have a clear idea of what you would like to work with, or you may simply have an idea of what brings you here. We can begin from there and find an approach that makes sense for you. You have the option to simply book a session of 60minutes or 90minutes, instead of booking a specific service (e.g. Voice Coaching, Music Therapy, etc.), so we can combine the methods according to you.
-
No. You do not need to know how to sing, move in a particular way, meditate or have previous experience with therapeutic or sound-based work. The work begins with you as you are and with what is relevant to you at the time.
-
Yes. Group sessions, workshops, programmes and retreat formats can be developed for different contexts and groups. The content, duration and way of working can be adapted to the setting and the people taking part.
-
Yes. Some forms of the work can take place online, particularly Voice Coaching and other work that does not depend on being physically in the same space. Other formats, including forms of Sound Healing that work directly with vibration on or around the body, take place in person. If you have a question about a specific format, ask to sort out if it is possible to do online.
-
Yes. You do not need to arrive with a problem that needs to be solved. You may come with a specific question or difficulty, with something you would like to learn or develop, or simply with curiosity and a wish to explore.
-
Voice Coaching focuses on developing and exploring the voice through singing, speaking, breath, body and mind. This can include vocal technique as well as a more individual relationship with your own voice.
Voice Therapy works with difficulties or limitations of the voice from a therapeutic perspective or uses the voice as a tool to address and support different conditions. The focus and process therefore differ, even though some methods may overlap.
-
Sound Healing works directly with sound and vibration as a healing method. Depending on the format, this may include instruments, the voice, listening, vibration and direct work with sound on or around the body.
Music Therapy is a therapeutic discipline in which music is used within a therapeutic process. It may involve listening, making sounds or music, the voice, movement, improvisation or other forms. You do not need any musical ability to take part in a session.
-
Not unless this is explicitly part of the format you have chosen. Working with the voice does not automatically mean performing, and there are many ways of using and exploring the voice that do not require singing a song in front of a group.
-
You can always say no, pause or ask for another way of approaching something. Your boundaries remain part of the process. Participation does not require you to push through something simply because an exercise has been suggested.
-
Of course. If you are unsure about a format, have a practical question or would like to know whether a particular kind of work could be suitable for you, you can contact me before booking. I also offer a free initial meeting which can be booked.
